Jurnal Studi Tafsir Volume 1, Number 1, January 2026 presents five articles representing diverse approaches in contemporary Qur’anic exegesis studies. Imam Tunisi examines the cross-reference method in Qur’anic studies through the thought of Mun'im Sirry, while Fahrunnisa Azzahra and Mustawa explore the interpretations of Muhammad al-Tahir Ibn Ashur and Muhammad Husayn al-Tabataba'i in relation to the discourse of synthetic life. Dewi Lestari discusses cosmic oaths as the legitimation of revelation in the tafsirs of Al-Tabari and Abu Mansur al-Maturidi. Liza Almaida proposes the concept of al-jawāb bi al-sukūt as a pedagogical strategy of the Qur’an in the tafsir of Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī, while Syaifullah Fakih and Lailiya Fitria Hayati examine the phenomenon of karoshi from the perspective of Qur’anic values based on the interpretation of Wahbah al-Zuhayli. Together, these five articles demonstrate the breadth of contemporary tafsir studies, highlighting not only textual interpretation but also the dialogue between the Qur’an and contemporary epistemological, theological, and social issues.
